Oral Mucosa Part1

 Who Are We?

Hey everyone, welcome to dental Lighteners!
When we used to be in our first year, we used to find it very difficult to study those bigfat books 😕. And we couldn't go throw the entire book a day prior exam.
But unlike you guys, we didn't have any other choice. We used to mug up the whole text and vomit the next day.
But you guys don't have to worry about it now 😁 .
We have created this blog solely to help all those dental students who are going through the same problems as we were going through in our first year!

Here we provide conciseeasy to understand ( even if you study at the last moment) notes of different subjects!

Now your next and most obvious question would be

Why should we study your notes? Are they reliable?
We understand your concern and it's good to know the source from where you are learning.
Guys, we are students of one of the topmost dental college of  India, Christian Dental College, Ludhiana.
These notes are made from your standard textbooks.
To know their credibility you can compare them with your textbooks! It's always good to be sure ( "smiles")

                     Today's Topic

Today we would be giving out notes of the Oral Mucosa

Now, oral mucosa is very vast but an easy topic. So to make it look simple to you, we have divided the notes into 2 parts.
Today we will be sharing with you the first part of these notes.

In the first part we will be studying:-
1. Definition of Oral mucosa
2. Functions
3. Classification
4. Keratinized epithelium
5. Non- Keratinized epithelium
6.Differences between two
7. Keratinocytes
8. Non-keratinocytes

What is this chapter all about?

All cavities in our body are lined by a mucous membrane and one such cavity is an Oral cavity. The mucous membrane that lines our Oral cavity is known as Oral mucosa
Now oral mucosa consists of 2 parts
1. Epithelium
2. Underlying connective tissue

In this chapter, we study the structure of this epithelium, it's variation in different regions and it functions according to these variations. Also, we will briefly have a look at various age changes and clinical considerations of this oral mucous membrane.
   Important tip
To make the best use of these notes, study them along with your standard textbook of oral histology: Orbans. This would enamel you to correlate better.

Here are your notes:-
