Hey everyone! Welcome to Dental Lightners! We are back with simple, easy to understand and memorize notes of 5th Cranial Nerve i.e. Trigeminal Nerve. 
 
                    Trigeminal Nerve

Trigeminal Nerve is the 5th Cranial Nerve . It is the mixed nerve containing both the motor and sensory fibres but predominantly Sensory.
                       Main Branches
It consists of three large nerves :
1. Opthalmic
2.  Maxillary
3.  Mandibular 



                       
                          FUNCTION 

It is a motor nerve to the muscles of mastication and several small muscles and the principal sensory nerve of the head and  face.  
 
                 Unique Features

1. It is the largest Cranial Nerve 
2. It's sensory ganglion is largest in the body and is located within the cranial cavity .
